And The Academy Award Goes To . . .

It's no news that advances in digital animation will change the face of cinema in astounding ways.

As in eliminating the need for real actors.

Take a look at this under-2-minute video of Electronic Emily, a digital re-creation of actress Emily O'Brien (The Young & The Restless), using Image Metrics computer-generated imagery. All of her facial movements and expressions were digitally developed from a short clip of real Emily, and then re-rendered pixel by pixel to achieve incredible lifelike realism.

Keep in mind, this is not the real Emily. It's animation.
