The raven became a seer after losing half his sight?
From personal raven experience he could see farther because of the lessons learned from losing his eye and so warn others of loss before they also might lose?
The raven was only looking at one merchant, the merchant who was not seen should of known to go back?
The raven's other eye was behind the merchants looking back?
The raven's lost eye was ahead looking into the future of what was to happen if the merchants kept going?
