A Film Interlude: Historia de un letrero

Here's an opportunity to take 5 minutes to regain perspective. This little film from Mexico won the short-story award at this year's Cannes Film Festival. Translated from the Spanish, the title is "The Story of a Sign."

Good choice for a short movie Gregory! Only 2,5 minute and I was fidling with mine volume control and trying to figure out the spanish sign of the blind beggar and boom the english transcript came up.Very powerfull message of the power of the words. Not suprisingly well chosen from a briliant wordsmith as you Greg.Words when they are written wrong can make us starve ,or they can cover us in gold. While we are on the film wave of Canne,s film festival i would like to bring to your attention smth.Steven Soderbergh,s "Che" won a "Palme d,ore".Mark mine word this will be the film event of the year.I gues will be distributed from IFC starting december so will get shot at the "Oskar,s" next year.By giving us the rise and fall of one of the great icons of history Steven Soderbergh and Benicio del Toro/playing Che Guevara/have humanizedd him and given audiences around the world smth.that will be discussed for years to come! So keep an eye on your local "Lackluster"and wait when this movie will wash off on our side of the pond. This is a biopic. It is interesting that Steven Soderbergh became the youngest winner ever of the "Palma d,or" at the 1989 Cannes film "Sex Lies, and videotape".He was 26.It is a biopic-"Argentina" and "Guerilla" There is a trailer on "You tube"/mostly documentry/.One more bit of info for an avid audiofill as you Greg, Soderbergh won a "Grammy" for making "Yes 9o12 live".So let keep a close watch on that movie and enjoy a briliant performance from an actor as Benicio del Toro.
